Who is this course for?
This course is created by a physical therapist for physical therapists BUT is applicable to any health care professional that wants to have additional training and knowledge in emergency medical management. It's intention is to boost teamwork confidence and streamlining athlete management, including collaboration among diverse medical professionals. Gain the skills to feel more at ease helping out at events and contributing effectively to athlete care. *CEUS provided for state licensed Physical Therapists listed below, please double check with your state to see if they accept this course.*

How long is the live course?
In person course starts at 9am with sign in at 8:30am. The course is scheduled to be until 7pm but depending on the pace of each course, class may finish sooner.

Will this certification count towards something?
This course provides 1.8 CEUs for CA, AR, CO, DE, GA, HI, ID, IN, IA, KS, ME, MD, MA, MI, MO, MT, NE, NH, NM, NC, ND, OR, RI, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI, WY state licensed DPTs by CPTA, is eligible with application to the Sports Certified Specialist exam, and optional BLS Certification from American Heart Association. If you are not from those listed states, please check with your state board to see if educational units will transfer to your state. *Note: In order to renew your DPT license, you must have eligible BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Will supplies be included?
Yes! The course includes a sidekick (small hip bag) and supplies for you to practice during the course. At the end of the course, you can take your sidekick and remaining supplies home for future sidelines use!

Will this course be offered in other states?
At the moment, live courses are offered in California and states that have offered to Host. However, if you are in a different state and is interested in hosting my course, feel free to email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to travel to you!

What is your refund policy?
If the registrant cancels 30 or more calendar days prior to the beginning of the course, registrant may apply the full course fee to another class, with no extra fees applied, or a refund minus 20% of registration fee for bank charges and administrative fees. If less than 30 days to a registered course, the participant will not be eligible for a refund, but can transfer their funds one time to another scheduled course for no additional fees. If registrant needs to cancel a second time, a 20% (of course registration) administrative fee will be charged for every course cancellation and reregistration moving forward. If registrant does not use transferred funds within one year, they will not be refunded and will not be able to transfer their funds to another scheduled course. Novasport Institute is not financially responsible for any airfare, hotel, or any other personal travel expense.

Can I use the designation "EMR" behind my name after I complete this course?
No. The Advanced Sports Emergency Responder course is an independent educational program and does not grant state or national Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification or licensure. The “EMR” designation is reserved for individuals who have completed an approved Emergency Medical Responder semester at a college/university and passed the required state or national EMS certification examinations. This course is designed to provide sport-specific emergency management education for clinicians and medical team members working in athletic and sideline environments. Completion of this course results in a certificate of completion, not an EMS or EMT credential, and does not authorize the use of the EMR title or designation. Participants should continue to represent their professional credentials according to their existing licensure and certifications.

Tentative Lab Schedule but time frames may change depending on class size and lecture speed. Please let me know privately if you must leave the course early.
